FAQ’S

 

What is Nambour Netball Lightning Challenge? A competition that targets the individual player.

 

Who can play? Boys and girls aged 14 17 years from across the Sunshine Coast.

 

How does it work? At sign on you nominate your preference for Attack, Centre or Defence. Each week you are drawn out and placed in a team. If the team you play in wins, you get 2 points, if you lose 0 points, a draw 1 point. Each week the leader board is updated for players to see their ranking. At the end of the season theplayer with the most points will be awarded ‘MVP’.

 

Do I have stay in my nominated position? There will be a team captain nominated for each team, each week and they can move players around that best suits the team.

 

Are there finals? Yes! There will be 4 teams for the final’s series. The top 8 players become Team 1, next8 become Team 2 etc until the 4 teams are filled. Players stay in their teams throughout final series, culminating to the Grand Final in week 3.

 

What will I win? For the team - Medallions presented to players from the winning team. For the MVP – a medal and an opportunity to attend a Sunshine Coast Lightning training session. Woohooo!

 

Why should I play? To challenge yourself to be the best. There are no commitments to train, just come and play. Be with your friends and make some new ones. Have some fun in a safe, fair and inclusive competition.

 

What should I wear? Black bike pants or shorts. A really cool t-shirt is provided for you (at no cost to you!)

 

 Can I play if I’m registered and play at another Association? You sure can, we’d love to see you come

out and test your skills with us.

 

How much will it cost? $260.00 covers NQ insurance, game fees and registration. If you are already registered with NQ at another Association- $170.00. $125.00 if you are registered and play in the divisional competition at N&DNA. $10 for a casual game but if you play 3 times you’ll need to pay the remainingregistration fee.

 

When does it start? 1st round is 2nd March 2019. 15 rounds plus 3 weeks of finals. Grand Final will be on 31st August 2019.

 

What time will the game be? Saturday’s at 3.15pm. Register by 2.30pm on game day so you’ll get in ateam to keep earning points. 4 x 12 minute quarters.

 

Where is it played? At Nambour & Districts Netball Association courts, 1 Laidlaw Road, Woombye

 

 How will I know my standing? Each week the leader board will be updated. It will posted on the

 Lightning Challenge Facebook page, Instagram and Team App.

 

 Is this run by Sunshine Coast Lightning? No, but they fully support the competition.
